5 Things You Absolutely Cannot Miss at the Charleston Farmers Market

Sep 06, 2019

Whether you’re a true Charleston native or you’re visiting from out of town, you’re guaranteed to enjoy the Charleston Farmers Market every Saturday morning in Marion Square. The market opens at 8am and stays open until 2pm from April 13th to November 30th. The Farmers Market has more than just local produce, it’s a fun gathering for friends and family! Here are 5 reasons why you can’t miss the market this upcoming Saturday:

Fresh Produce

One of the most important aspects of any farmers market is the fresh, locally grown produce. Farmers from around the Lowcountry gather their best fruit and vegetables to sell at a very reasonable price. The quality and taste of the produce is unbeatable, plus it is a much healthier way to shop for food.

Food Vendors

Shopping for food at the farmer’s market can work up an appetite. Luckily, the Charleston Farmers Market hosts a wide assortment of amazing food vendors from local restaurants. You can grab an açai smoothie from the Huriyali food truck, or try some spice blends from the Charleston Spice Company. There are plenty of breakfast and lunch options for everyone to enjoy.

Local Artists and Crafts

Not only does the Charleston Farmers Market provide excellent food, but local artists also gather in Marion Square to feature their personal artwork and crafts. When you’re done shopping, be sure to check our their stations to view some of the amazing work. You might just be leaving with some great food and some great artwork!

Live Performances

Pack a blanket or towel as you will want to enjoy the live entertainment every Saturday. A variety of local bands come out each week to showcase some of their original music, and everyone will gather in the park to enjoy the relaxing concert.

Beautiful Views

We know the Charleston Farmers Market has great food, local artwork, and awesome live music, but one of the best parts is the beautiful location! As the market closes, you can’t miss the shops on King Street or the cocktails and dinner at some of the best restaurants. Marion Square is just a few steps away from Virginia’s on King or all of HCH’s well loved Hutson Alley restaurants like Coast and 39 Rue de Jean!

The Charleston Farmers Market offers a vast assortment of treats and tastes that friends and families are sure to find something for everyone to like. It’s more than a shopping trip; it’s a weekly tradition in Charleston that brings the entire community together. You can truly make a day of it – When it’s over, the fun can continue at one of Holy City Hospitality’s popular restaurants located right around the corner.
