A few favorite things to see and do in charming Charleston South Carolina

A five-hour tour of the vibrant, deep south-style city of Charleston SC off the Crystal Serenity last month during a two-week cruise from New York to Miami was just about enough time to soak in its charms but not ample enough hours to see it all. Perhaps this means a trip to Charleston is in store.

Never-the-less, a press release arrived today espousing the glories of Charleston, must-see places and diversions such as any of 19 championship golf courses, historic churches, ante-bellum houses, miles of pristine beaches, a buzz-worthy restaurant scene and a bounty of historic tours and attractions for all ages.

A stroll through White Point Gardens, historic Battery and Rainbow Row, and Waterfront Park. Brunch at Virginia’s on King for their famed Southern specialty- Shrimp and Grit Benedict with Creole Hollandaise. It’s as dangerously delicious as it sounds.
