The Knot recognizes wedding venues annually for being the best in food, atmosphere and all-around likability. This award, known as The Best of Weddings recognized Virginia’s On King this year for being one of the best all-around venues in Charleston. Virginia’s On King offers guests an upstairs entertainment area that is completely separate from the downstairs dining area. Parties this past year included engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and even wedding parties. Many guests had a positive experience and shared their stories with other future brides on The Knot.

The Best of Weddings award is given to those who are trusted, dependable and easy to work with. The Knot recognized Virginia’s On King as one of The Best of Weddings, as did the rest of the happy couples who have hosted their wedding party or reception dinner Upstairs at Virginia’s On King. To qualify for the reward, venues require at least 10 reviews from real couples and the top 3% are chosen for the award.

I had booked our rehearsal dinner somewhere in Mt Pleasant but then we found out that our wedding was going to be the same weekend as the bridge run so I decided to move it away from the Mt Pleasant area! Because of that, I ended up booking Virginia’s on King a little more last minute than I would have liked. I wanted somewhere that was affordable, easily accessible and in the heart of Charleston that my family and friends could be comfortable in. I hadn’t tried the food at Virginia’s on King except brunch one time a couple of years ago so I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. The food was great and all of our guests really enjoyed their meals with no complaints!! We had a guest with Celiac disease and they were VERY accommodating with no issues or questions asked at all! The service was amazing the night of our rehearsal dinner, they checked in with us several times to make sure everything was perfect. The bar setup was perfect and the room was a PERFECT size for about 40 guests! We were all comfortable, the decor was nice and very southern/Charleston, and everything else was great! No complaints at all and definitely one of the more affordable options in Charleston! Would highly recommend!”
